WELCOME!!
Greetings from Mountain Creek Baptist Church! I would like to take this opportunity to tell you the exciting things that are happening at Mountain Creek and the surrounding community. We have recently experienced one of the biggest growth explosions in our 137-year history! Three years ago the congregation of the church had dropped to around 30 people. Since that time God has done some amazing things and the congregation has grown to 250 for our Sunday morning services. Our congregation size qualifies us an an Intermediate Church with the Georgia Baptist Convention. The Convention recently ranked Mountain Creek number three in the top twenty-five Intermediate churches for number of baptistms in 2008.
The biggest miracle that Mountain Creek has been a privileged part of is the number of souls that have been saved and lives that have changed through the love of Jesus Christ. Many of our current members have a testimony of a life that has been drastically changed through God's gift of salvation! The results are so evident that our local sheriff has told some of our long time members that the crime rate in this area has decreased in the last few years.
We were able to purchase a 14-acre tract of land across the street from our existing location in 2007. There is a softball field and country store located on the property, and both have served the surrounding communities for many years. The country store has been converted into a thrift store by the church and all proceeds from the store are used for a monthly food drive that the church provides for those in need. The softball field is used by Mountain Creek and other area churches for social events. In the near future, Jackson County will add additional ball fields and playground areas for the community, and we are in the process of constructing a new church building for the space that is needed as the church continues to grow.
We are so excited about what God is doing, and we would like to ask you and your family to worship with us!
In Christ,
Pastor Jeff Graham
